What is all of the fuss about? When it comes to Dallas specifically, Bravo may want to expand their franchise name to the Catty/ “Potential” Housewives Of Dallas. Gossip is swirling about who is and who isn’t a part of the cast. To be honest, there are some pretty good assumptions and down right mysterious hinting towards the infamous Cynthia Smoot.
It is no surprise to many Dallas socialites that another reality show has been brewing. It is not Dallas’ first, but it’s almost as if the news has let the cackling hens out of the barn. A simple outrage of “who is who” and “it should be me” has so many in a pouty mess.
I will be the first to say, “Bravo is concerned about those coins!”. Who has the capital to represent themselves on camera? Who has the klout to look good, smell good and shop in the most luxurious high-end places in the Big D? If that is not you… you were not chosen. You may not even have been thought of, whispered about and well, (Long Pause) you are not a part of the cast.
So let’s get over this really quickly, wait for the cast reveal and then dissect every move they make from there. A couple of online publications have already taken a stab at who they think the ladies are; while some simply named the women they felt deserved the honor to represent “US”. We, Texas Girls, can be so territorial!
About the cattiness mentioned above, some of the cackling is justified, and the reason has everything to do with the one word- “Diversity”. If you think that this article/topic, just appeared out of thin air – you could not be more wrong. I have received several personal calls to vent frustrations about the cast and the fact that Bravo did not cast a single “Black” woman. Why does Bravo only cast White Women? We are all aware of the Atlanta Housewives – great but from there, where do you see a diversified group of women? I’ll Wait!
In recent times, a few Dallas notables took to Twitter to express their outrage and disappointment for the casting decisions of Bravo. While I won’t mention all the names there, I will quote one of my favorites – Mother, Wife, Attorney & Autism Advocate Dawn Neufeld stated, “Dallas is an incredibly diverse city, and it will be disappointing if it’s not reflected in the cast.” Recently, I put my ears to the street, and heard Pat Smith’s name was mentioned as well.
I don’t know.
Who knows besides Bravo and Cynthia Smoot? *Smile* What is curious is that, if NO ONE knows who the cast is, then how can we say if there is NOT a woman of color on the cast.
Hmm, there is a leak in the Bravo/Dallas-Fort Worth area, and I am sniffing them out.
One thing that I know to be true is that, this is not the time to have a problem with the cast of The Real Housewives of Dallas. We should be celebrating them and the opportunity to show Dallas in the spotlight, but this is a time to make Andy Cohen aware.
Do you remember the mystery dress?
The Blue-Green Dress?
One day, it appeared on social media, the questions and guessing started and once all of the hype was over, we finally received an answer. This correlation has everything to do with the image from last year’s 10 Shades of Success.
The 10 Shades of Success is a platform created by Founder Karen Michelle, in which 10 women in Dallas are selected and honored for their accomplishments made within our great city. Unapologetically, the 10 Shades of Success cannot escape the image from year one, even though they have moved to year 2 with another outstanding group of women. Upon the release of the first year image, local radio station, K104 jokingly lit the flames and referenced on live radio that the women were the cast of The Real Housewives of Dallas. I don’t believe that the flames have died because Karen Michelle recently stated, “There was no talk about a real housewives of Dallas until that image came out last year”.
Hmm …. I am sure that her comment alone may have raised a few eyebrows, but hey, it’s her truth, and she is sticking to it. Karen may believe that some recognition is due to her. Plenty of us eat from our recognition. You mention our name and our brand keeps looking good. That’s all. I cannot speak for her, but if that is not the issue, then what is?
Coincidentally, a few weeks ago “105.7” released an article with the image resurfacing again and the humor of “Is this the new cast of The Real Housewives Of Dallas?” The image holds names worth mentioning such as Dawn Neufield, DeDe McGuire, LeeAnne Locken and other well deserving women. I can understand why the picture is appealing to the eye. It is colorful and DIVERSE. It looks absolutely beautiful with the Crescent Club as the backdrop. So yes, I can see why the gossip is swirling, and the questions have been there.
I am sorry to tell you – NO, these ladies are not your Real Housewives of Dallas or are they?
You will just have to clutch your pearls and wait.
One thing I can say is that Dena Dishes Dallas will keep you up to date once the show airs. We may have some exclusive leaks as well!
