Thanks to an overwhelming demand for its wildly popular granola, Brooklyn-based Early Bird Foods & Co. announces its upcoming debut next month in Central Market Stores across Texas. The brand is experiencing explosive growth with its healthy and savory granola varieties as it spreads to new markets across the U.S. Early Bird Granola is creator Nekisia Davis’ take on wholesome handmade granola with a twist. Her style of granola features a depth that others lack. Her old-fashioned oat granolas are set apart from the pack by a strong focus on heart-healthy ingredients like organic dried apples, raw nuts, kosher salt, and of course, her secret weapon of extra-virgin olive oil. The irresistibly crunchy snack (or breakfast, sometimes lunch, and often dessert) is available in several bagged varieties to build your ultimate granola pantry-stash. The brand’s most popular batches include paradise-inspired Aloha with mango and macadamia nuts, Jubilee with cherries and pistachios, Choc-A-Doodle-Doo with dark chocolate and coconut flakes, and Farmhand’s Choice with pecans and maple syrup.
Davis was managing franny’s, the famous pizzeria in Brooklyn, when she started making granola in her spare time for her foodie friends which led her to start her own artisanal granola company. Davis handled all the baking, packaging and selling of her granola at local markets artisan markets across New York City, like the Brooklyn Flea. Yes, they DID come to several Dallas area stores but I was out of town and didn’t get a chance to write this up. However, I did have a private tasting myself and can honestly say this is the best granola ever! I nearly finished an entire bag of Cherries Jubilee last night and my daughter Gigi loves the Choco-A-Doodle-Doo. I’m passing some out to my editor and writing teams, lets see what they think!
