Côtes du Coeur ( “vintage of the heart”) , the largest charity wine auction in the Southwest, celebrates 25 years this year. Comprised of five annual events, the Côtes du Coeur season are renowned for their focus on fine wine, food and outstanding networking opportunities. Founded by members of the medical community as a unique way to support the AHA’s fight against heart disease and stroke, Côtes du Coeur has attracted more than 22,000 people and raised more than $27 million for cardiovascular and stroke research and heart-health education in the past two decades. The American Heart Association is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke – the two leading causes of death in the world. We team with millions of volunteers to fund innovative research, fight for stronger public health policies, and provide lifesaving tools and information to prevent and treat these diseases. The Dallas-based association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
More than 1,200 guests are expected to attend this year’s gala benefiting the American Heart Association (AHA). The event features food and wine pairing from 26 world-renowned wineries and 18 of Dallas’s top chefs. “Melissa and I are honored to be among a list of esteemed chairs that have come before us,” said Steve Grimshaw, CEO of Caliber Collison Centers and 2016 Côtes du Coeur chair. “Over the past 25 years, over 27 million has been raised and we are excited to lead the campaign over the $30 million mark.” Celebrity chef Richard Chamberlain developed the dinner and wine pairing and recruited Dallas-area chefs to prepare signature dishes for the event. The evening will also feature a wine auction with a variety of one-of-a-kind wine-related experiences and highly sought after wines. Renowned winemaker Kevin Morrissey from Ehlers Estate will be honored as the 2016 Tête de Cuvée Award Recipient. The evening will conclude with an after party hosted by the association’s young professionals group, Young at Heart. Côtes du Coeur is locally sponsored by Crest Auto Group, Paragon Healthcare, Highland Capital Management and Caliber Collision.
